What

The Punjabi Theatre Academy is adapting its stage play, Go Back Home, into a film titled Rising Up Again. The original play is set in 1979 and deals with the Southall community's resistance against racism from the National Front. The film adaptation will incorporate interviews and eyewitness accounts to document this historical event and educate younger generations.

The Purpose (The "Why")

Educational: The primary goal stated is to provide a "valuable pathway" for young people to learn about the "historical roots" of current social issues.

Sessions will be delivered at the different venues including Jasmine Community Centre, Lancaster Road, Southall UB1 1AT; Greenford Library, Greenford. UB6 9LG and others
