Lasting Support CIC
About Organisation
Lasting Support is a frontline specialist safeguarding organisation rooted in community and care, working at the intersection of trauma, safeguarding, and systems change. We exist for children, young people, and the families who love them.
We work with those who have experienced trauma, particularly families who have felt let down by, or are wary of, traditional services. We know that for many people, asking for help can feel scary or out of reach, so we focus on building real trust. Families see the same therapists week after week, in welcoming community settings where they feel comfortable and understood.
Founded by CEO Warda Mohamed following over a decade of frontline work, Lasting Support was built on the belief that lived experience and professional expertise must go hand in hand. Our large, multidisciplinary team reflects the communities we serve, and many of us carry personal experience of the very issues we address. This is what makes our work different.
Our two award-winning flagship programmes sit at the heart of what we do. Building Bridges uses creative arts to support children and young people aged 4 to 18 in Ealing who have experienced domestic violence or harm at home — helping them heal, express themselves, and feel safe again. Sporting Souls, commissioned by the Home Office, MOPAC, and Violence Reduction Units across multiple London boroughs, uses MMA-based sport and therapy together to reach young people who would never walk into a therapy room. In 2026, Sporting Souls won the Sporting Equals Wellbeing Award.
Beyond direct delivery, Lasting Support operates at a systemic level. We sit on local and regional boards, contribute to safeguarding reviews and complex case consultations, and have been invited to speak at the United Nations on international safeguarding issues. Our work informs policy — shaped by both frontline practice and independent review by the Universities of Sussex and Cambridge. We are regularly featured in national media as a trusted voice on complex safeguarding, emerging risks, and the experiences of vulnerable families.
We are funded by the Home Office, the Greater London Authority, MOPAC, and local authorities, and combine therapy, community support, consultancy, and professional training to create models of care that are culturally appropriate, practical, and deeply human.
Because when people feel truly safe, seen, and understood — lasting change can begin.
